A Nourishing Our Neighbors grant, provided by the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, is helping address food insecurity for local families.

On November 4th, 2024 AMM's Dr. Netra Thakur and Kayla Jones MA, Med Serve Fellow, attended the annual John B Graham Medical Student Research Society UNC Medical Student Research Day.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On the third Friday each month, AMM welcomes the Rex Mammography Bus to provide free mammograms to patients.

The Million Steps Challenge Award Dinner was held on August 14th to recognize the top three participants with the most steps taken over 5 months. Everyone who participated received a Fitbit to track their steps, and the top three also received a gift card to Fleet Feet to buy a new pair of walking shoes!

We are excited to host a LIVE discussion of “Fall into Wellness: Staying on Top of Essential Health Screenings and Vaccines this Season. The event is sponsored by HealthLit4Wake and will be held in the AMM Sanctuary. Dr. Edwin Burkett, AMM Medical Director, will be one of the panelists in the Ask the Doc format.

RightCare's program, Project Access, is a significant aid to AMM patients, and to create connections like this with other organizations in the business of keeping our neighbors healthy, is invaluable.

I am delighted to announce that AMM is continuing to expand access to medical care by adding a new provider to our team, Esther Jones, FNP-BC, APRN! 

Our CHWs are an integral part of our whole-person care model. Thank you Avantor Foundation for enabling AMM to extend its services to patients in their homes and communities.

AMM is thrilled that hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians will now receive health care through Medicaid. This will save lives. This will cover North Carolinians with an income up to 138% of the Federal Poverty Level.
