Several members of area congregations, staff and community volunteers came out Saturday September 19, 2009 to plant Alliance's community garden. "It was a beautiful day!", stated Alliance Executive Director Sean Harrison. 'We planted mostly green leafy vegetables that grow well in the fall months. " Representatives from Interfaith Food Shuttle were on hand to help out with the planting.
Kids at The Boys & Girls Club, situated next door to Alliance, will volunteer regularly to tend to the garden, however help from additional volunteer groups is needed. For further information, please contact Tonia at: (919) 250-9254.
