AMM celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness month in October through two major community outreach events. On October 2nd at North Hills Mall in Raleigh, 19 AMM walkers participated in the Making Strides Walk and collectively raised more than $1,000 for the American Cancer Society. Then on October 9th, AMM hosted its annual breast cancer screening event in partnership with Rex Healthcare. More than 60 women received a free clinical breast exam and educational materials on mammography and breast health resources for the uninsured. Many first-time participants expressed deep gratitude for this free screening opportunity. Alliance is grateful to all the providers, volunteers and community partners who help make this event possible each year.
