We want to say thank you to our community in Wake County for your steadfast support of AMM. We cannot provide primary medical care to our vulnerable neighbors without you. Wake County is the wealthiest county in NC, and with that comes the responsibility to care for those who do not have the means to do so for themselves.
The average patient at AMM supports a family of three on just $39,000 a year. AMM patients are part of the fabric of our community, and we all have an AMM patient in our lives. AMM believes that healthcare is a basic human right. As the musician, Bono said, "Where you live should not determine whether you live, or whether you die." Sadly, the life expectancies in Wake County vary based on which zip code you live in. As we move towards the Holiday season, we ask that you remember and support the vulnerable populations who are so important to Wake County.

AMM's Public Health Intern, Alysia, presented on the Evolution of Vaccines at AMM to the staff. Alysia worked closely with Dr. Jeff Engel to analyze AMM's use of vaccines for populations that had previously not received vaccines.
AMM is grateful for the medical students, pre-med, psychology, and social work interns who play an important role in the clinic. We hope to educate and inspire the next generation to work with underserved populations in their healthcare future.
Alysia is a senior at Meredith College, studying Biology and Public Health.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On the third Friday each month, AMM welcomes the Rex Mammography Bus to provide free mammograms to patients.
Early detection of breast cancer can be lifesaving, so it is important that AMM along with UNC Rex can provide a way for AMM patients to receive cancer screenings.
In the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year, AMM was able to provide 295 on-site mammograms through the partnership with UNC Rex Mobile Mammography.

AMM's clinic staff participated in BLS or Basic Life Support Training. The clinic staff was trained in CPR for both infants and adults.
Keeping skills and knowledge of life-saving measures up to date is so important and AMM is proud to have so many people CPR certified.

Thank you so much to all the women from North Raleigh United Methodist Church who came to AMM to build flu and dental kits and learn about AMM! These kits will be distributed to patients, an important way AMM engages with the community.

Most people are not too fond of spiders, but seeing a spider in the AMM garden is an exciting sight! Having spiders in your garden means that you have natural pest control. These eight-legged friends keep the balance of good and bad bugs in check. So don't turn the spiders away this Halloween, they're a treat, not a trick.

Nicole Porter, Director of Operations
I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the newest member of the team! My name is Nicole Porter and I recently became the Director of Operations for Alliance Medical Ministry. I have worked in Operations, Patient Satisfaction, Onboarding, and Human Resources. With 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry, I’m eager to bring my skills and enthusiasm to all of AMM’s projects.
I graduated from Appalachian State University, and currently live in Garner with my fiancé Michael and our Corgi Bellie. I look forward to continuing to get to know all of you and contributing to our success together. I’m very glad to be back working in the Wake County area helping the patients of our community get the access to the healthcare they need. I’m passionate about process improvement and am always looking for ways teams can grow together.
