April is Physical Fitness Month at AMM! Physical exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and according to the CDC, the average adult should get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity every day. At AMM there are a few different fitness programs offered to patients. Every week, there are Zumba and yoga classes, and in the spring patients start a new wellness challenge! In the past, other fitness options have been offered as well, such as strength training and Walk with a Doc.
Thanks to the help of some amazing volunteers, the physical fitness programs are completely free to all patients and are a great way exercise with others, find community and learn how to exercise. All of AMM’s classes are offered in Spanish and English, so that everyone has a great experience stretching out in yoga or learning a new step in Zumba.
Starting in April, AMM’s newest wellness challenge will be starting! Patients will be able to earn points towards awesome prizes by completing certain activities such as going on a walk, trying a new healthy food, coming to a class at AMM, and more.
So join AMM’s patients this month by going on a walk, taking a new workout class, or dancing around the house! There are so many ways to get physically fit.
